Basic Language Skills

LDA cards: These language cards are especially designed to meet the receptive and expressive needs of young children and to engage their interest. We show children using the things children use and doing the things they do! This range includes photo cards which clearly depict real-life objects and situations, and picture cards with charming illustrations that will encourage story-telling and expressive language.

Basic Language cards: The resources in this section will help develop children's receptive and expressive language and focus on basic vocabulary development. They include photos cards on adjectives, actions, prepositions and nouns, along with tenses and parts of the body. The activities have been especially written by a speech and language therapist in order to support your teaching using the cards.

User group: The cards are versatile enough to be used by teachers, therapists and teaching assistants for group or individual work.

Tense Sequencing

These photo cards are ideal to help children practise tenses and early sequencing. The images in each 3-card sequence have been specifically chosen to engage the interest of young children and to promote discussion. The cards illustrate the past, present and future tense of 13 regular and irregular verbs including to climb, to paint, to tie, to wash, to peel, to pack, to open/unwrap, to cut, to build, to blow, to drink, to eat and to make.

Basic Language Activity Cards
